Wouldn't it be great if you could find advice and reviews  from students of British universities other than yours?
We think so too.

At YearsAbroad.com, we want to make it easier for you to get  hold of top-quality advice on all things 'year abroad', so that you can make  better-informed decisions that will transform your year abroad.

As British  universities rarely make their students' experiences and advice available to  those from other universities, we're trying to compile the best advice available  on every part of a year abroad experience.

Contributed by students who’ve actually done it, you can find advice on and reviews of:
     > Application processes and university administrations;
     > Accommodation offered and where's best to live.
     > The quality of teaching, pastoral care and social life at universites, language schools, internships and
        volunteering projects abroad.
     > How to get that all-important 'value for money' out of your year abroad experience.

Why contribute to YearsAbroad.com?

At YearsAbroad.com, we're trying to make it easier for students who are considering a year abroad as part of their degree to answer their questions on the realities of living, working and studying abroad.

How you can help

The best way to do this is to hear from other students who have been on years abroad themselves. It’s often difficult to find out what it’s really like to live on a  foreign campus, work as an English Language assistant or as an intern abroad, so we hope that our student-submitted reviews will make your research a bit easier.

We hope that those who benefited from the advice  on this site will in turn pass on their own tips after their year of living, working and studying abroad.

So, if you have any information that you think would be useful to those about to embark on a year abroad, we’d be really grateful if you would share it with  us.

If you're interested in travel writing or journalism, and would like to become a regular contributor with your own Author's blog, get in touch! We will of course give you full credit for your published advice.

YearsAbroad.com is in contact with  many UK universities, who are a great  help. Please remember to consult their Year Abroad advice packs (or similar) for  information specific to your degree programme.

Do you have any advice on...

    > the appplication processes for foreign universities, language courses or internships abroad?
    > the quality of teaching, pastoral care and social life, and if they lived up to your expectations?
    > what (if any) accommodation was on offer, where the best districts to live are, how easy it is to rent a place and where's good to look for apartments?
    > how students and foreigners were treated and welcomed into the company / college / university at which you spent time, and how well you were paid?
    > any experiences, stories or anecdotes (true ones only please!) about settling in and 'culture shock'?
    > how best to get value for money out of the whole year abroad experience?
    > anything at all you wish you'd known before you went abroad that you think other students in similar situations would benefit from knowing?

If the answer to any of these questions is 'Yes' then please share your advice with others by clicking here.
